1. What loves to munch on your mucus while helping protect you from those pesky plant lectins?

You may have not heard about this novel longevity-supporting probiotic that is up to 5% of our gut microbiome:

First identified in 2004, Akkermansia muciniphila — which literally translates to “mucus loving” — is a species of bacteria that helps to maintain our gut lining.

Until now, although we've been able to support it with prebiotics, it’s never been available directly as a supplement.

Enter Pendulum Life, the first company to offer Akkermansia in capsule form .

Learn more about the value of Akkermansia in this interview between Dr Steven Gundry and scientist Colleen Cutliffe, the CEO and co-founder of Pendulum.

Discovered through high-resolution DNA sequencing, this patented strain feeds on mucus and helps maintain our gut lining.

Available now in Australia at OptimOZ.

2. Coffee consumption improves vascular function in people with hypertension

Coffee is rich in polyphenols like quercetin, chlorogenic acid, and others, that exert beneficial health effects in humans. Drinking coffee is linked with reduced disease burden and increased lifespan, possibly due to coffee’s ability to induce autophagy (a natural process of cleaning out damaged cells in the body).

In this study, the authors posited that these benefits may be related to the effects of polyphenolic compounds in coffee, especially chlorogenic acid, a bioactive compound that exerts antioxidant properties, among others.

You can get even more benefits from your morning cup of joe when drinking Kimera Koffee enhanced with L-theanine and vitamins.

3. A 6 month Low Carb / Keto Diet puts type 2 diabetes into remission

In a study published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ), scientists found that after six months, patients who followed a low-carb diet containing less than 26 per cent of daily calories from carbohydrates achieved greater rates of type 2 diabetes remission than those who followed other diets traditionally recommended for managing the disease.

Starting a low carb diet may make you feel more hungry than before. Adding healthy fats like Brain Octane Oil or Grass-Fed Ghee to your diet will help keep you feeling satiated.

4. World-first research links low Vitamin D with high inflammation

Research from the University of South Australia shows a direct link between low levels of vitamin D and high levels of inflammation, providing an important biomarker to identify people at higher risk of or severity of chronic illnesses with an inflammatory component.

On the other hand, by boosting vitamin D, people with deficiency may reduce chronic inflammation, hence avoid a number of related diseases.

Vitamin D plays a critical role in calcium absorption into the bloodstream. Vitamin K is required to transport calcium from the bloodstream into the bone. Therefore, it's best to combine Vitamin D supplementation with Vitamin K.

Bulletproof Vitamins A-D-K (available in softgels of gummies ) is one of the best ways to get the science backed dose of these vitamins.

Magnesium assists in the activation of vitamin D. All of the enzymes that metabolize vitamin D seem to require magnesium. It is essential to ensure that the recommended amount of magnesium is consumed to obtain the optimal benefits of vitamin D.

What are ketones and what role do they play in the nutritional strategy of the team?

Just like you have an energy drink filled with sugar glucose, some cyclists at the Tour de France will use drinks filled with ketones.

Ketone supplements consumed with carbohydrates may enhance recovery by improving glycogen re-synthesis which is particularly important at the Tour.

KetoneAid KE4 is as cost-effective solution to increase blood ketone levels, which can be used as s fuel and enhance performance. Each batch of KetoneAid KE4 is 3rd Party Tested for WADA banned substances.
