  • A History of Healing

Inflammation is a natural immune response your body uses to protect and heal itself. However, when oxidative stress and inflammation persist, the resulting discomfort can cause more harm than good. Our ancestors were plagued by this problem too, and since they needed to perform at their best to survive, they turned to natural botanicals to help them thrive.

Thankfully, this ancient wisdom was well documented, and modern science allows us to research these natural botanicals to identify and isolate the active compounds responsible for their health effects. Take turmeric as an example. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries, but it wasn’t widely understood that its active compound curcumin was responsible for its health benefits until more recently. This ability of modern science to isolate and standardize the active compounds of natural botanicals has provided safe alternatives for healthy inflammation response.1

    The Curcumin Max Difference

Turmeric has historically been used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for many purposes. In traditional Chinese medicine turmeric is known as “Jianghuang.” This translates to “yellow ginger” and it was used for everything from sore arms and swelling, to a tonic promoting qi (pronounced CHEE, Chinese for “energy flow”).2 Modern science has shown that curcumin, a product of turmeric root, is a potent active compound with powerful antioxidant properties.

Due to turmeric’s historical use, you may have heard it referred to interchangeably with curcumin, however they are very different. While curcumin is incredibly beneficial, it accounts for only 2% of the turmeric root. It is also notoriously poorly absorbed by the body and requires the right source and blend of complementary ingredients to maximize its benefits.

To combat curcumin’s poor absorption into the blood stream, many curcumin brands have historically boosted their doses or blended them with unnecessary additives. Some of these additives can result in hyper-bioavailability of anything ingested (some things are meant to absorb in varying degrees) and may irritate the GI tract.

Curcumin Max uses curcumin from Acumin®—a whole turmeric extract that naturally extracts 200+ beneficial root compounds and concentrates them into a unique matrix to improve bioavailability of curcumin without the unnecessary additives. This advanced turmeric complex has been clinically demonstrated to offer 10-times better absorption into the blood stream than standard curcumin 95% powders.3

    A Recipe for Relief

Curcumin Max is the result of countless hours spent researching the most proven, time-tested natural inflammation response botanicals and identifying the perfect combination and dose of their active compounds. The result? A holistic, whole-body solution for healthy inflammation response.

    Turmeric Root Complex (Curcumin)

Curcumin is the active compound of turmeric, a powerful plant that has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese medicine. Modern science has proven time and again the unique effects of this potent antioxidant. Curcumin has been shown to support a healthy inflammation response by helping the immune system maintain optimal levels of the factors it uses to communicate with the rest of the body. However, in its powdered state, curcumin is poorly absorbed by the body. That’s why when supplementing with curcumin it is critical to use a natural, potent and bioavailable source that your body can use to maximize its wide array of health effects. Curcumin Max uses a patented whole turmeric complex that delivers 10-times better absorption than standard curcumin 95% powders.

    Ginger Root

Ginger is a flowering plant that is closely related to turmeric and shares an equally impressive list of health benefits. Its ability to improve health and well-being has been well documented in the ancient texts of many civilizations. In the modern age, it has been studied extensively, and many of its benefits can be attributed to a potent antioxidant compound called “gingerol.” Additionally, research shows that it is complementary when combined with turmeric due to their close biological relationship.

    Boswellia

Boswellia serrata is a tree native to India commonly called Indian frankincense due to the aromatic resin that is extracted to create incense. It contains active compounds shown to maintain normal cytokine production, supporting a healthy inflammation response. It has also shown the ability to support joint health, providing a powerful and complementary addition to the other ingredients in Curcumin Max.

    Stephania Root

Native to China and Taiwan shown to possess the powerful ability in pre-clinical trials to maintain normal cytokine levels—the factors your immune system uses to keep a normal inflammation response. While it is a lesser-known ingredient in Western medicine, it is among the 50 fundamental herbs used in Traditional Chinese medicine.4 Its use has shown unique effects on a healthy inflammation response.5

    Brain Octane® Oil

Brain Octane oil is a smart fat distilled from the most potent part of the coconut. A carrier for the fat soluble powder ingredients.

  • Q: Why is the curcumin in Curcumin Max’s liquid Brain Octane oil softgel better absorbed than the curcumin from typical powders?
A: Curcumin, ginger, boswellia and stephania contain lipophilic compounds, meaning they are “fat soluble” and need to be taken with a fat source to be best absorbed and utilized by the body. The curcumin used in Curcumin Max was specifically developed to overcome the low absorption of typical 95% curcumin powders. It emphasizes the naturally occurring aspects of whole turmeric root, including the most active and bioavailable compounds that are needed by the body to absorb curcumin and put it to work for you.

Q: Why is the Brain Octane oil and softgel a better delivery system than powdered capsules?
A: Brain Octane oil is a source of fat which helps deliver the fat-soluble ingredients into your system. Distilled from the most potent part of the coconut, Brain Octane is a great alternative to support absorption.

Q: What is the difference between turmeric and curcumin?
A: You may have heard “turmeric” and “curcumin” used interchangeably, but the difference is impactful. Curcumin or “curcuminoids” are the active compounds found in turmeric root responsible for all of the great health benefits. Curcuminoids are potent antioxidant and healthy inflammation response supporting compounds. However, they only make up about 2% of the turmeric root, which is why a standardized and bioavailable curcumin source is critical in maximizing its amazing benefits.

Q: What is the difference between standard curcumin powders and the whole turmeric complex used in Curcumin Max?
A: Due to its patented preparation process, Acumin®—the turmeric complex in Curcumin Max—has been clinically demonstrated to deliver 10-times greater bioavailability versus standard curcumin 95% powders. It goes through a physical (non-chemical) extraction process where the most beneficial turmeric nutrients are standardized and blended together in a natural turmeric matrix. This process allows for superior curcumin absorption and all the benefit without the use of added chemicals or unnecessary enhanced absorption ingredients.

Q: Are the ingredients in Curcumin Max a natural and safe alternative to support healthy inflammation response?
    A: Yes.

Q: Do the ingredients in Curcumin Max support healthy joints?
    A: Yes.
